What on earth have I been doing for the past year???

Installment one =D

So, this is where it all started. My niece got married last year and so I decided she needed a quilt and prototype 1 decided to help and it all went nuclear from there.  She chose the Lunar Lamas for her wedding day as she's a Vancouver Island kinda girl and that's how they do those things.  That meant the quilt had to be kinda special....  soooo, we chose some fabric, and then leached some color out of it to make cool designs on the fabric, divided it into seasonal color palettes and put a 'tree of life' in the middle. We then decided that it wasn't quite right yet so we wrapped an ouroboros around it, put some quarter loaves of bread in each corner, hand embroidered some wheat and "bob's your uncle (or aunt)". The pillow case have phases of the moon on one and a mariner's compass on the other. All sounds pretty easy but you gotta understand that I'm a sewer/quilter type and prototype 1 is all like an artisty type so it was accomplished with a whole lot of...

from both of us as we tried to figure out what on earth the other was trying to do!!  Had a wee bit of help from the usual suspects as well...

Obviously, it turned out much better with help.  The Critical Onlooker in red is prototype 3, just checking in to make sure I wasn't ruining it!!  And one last picture with The Perfect one (child 4, who is also the last one=D) who actually donated 2 whole days and a lot of artistic advice to helping with some of the grunt work.

Then, they got married in a handfasting ceremony and got pregnant right away....
