This is my current project. It's a hoopsisters quilt called Feathered Star and I'll be making 12 block a month for the whole year to finish a queen size quilt by the end of December. Or at least, that\s the challenge!!  I choose to do this one in satin as I had a bunch of different colors already in my stash (not like I don't have the same in cotton!!)  and discovered that I still didn't have enough to complete the whole project, so spent an additional $200.00 on fabric, picked up flannel for the backing as well, and $90.00 for the batting. Hope it turns out real nice!!
Here are a few pics of the other blocks I have done already. Todays project is to complete the star which is a total of 9 blocks.  However, like a dimwit, I deleted a block pattern on my machine and it deleted it completely so have to stop by the store and get the file replaced.  Then must remember to put it on the computer first so that I can replace it myself if I do the stupid again!

Now just have to make a menu plan for the next 2 weeks, meet my eldest of 4 for coffee, get the groceries, aquire the files again and I can put the laundry in and do some sewing =D  Sounds like a reasonable day!  The dishes and sweeping can wait.... right?

So, it seems that the first question when starting a blog, is... what picture should I use at the top. That seems to come right after "What am I going to call the blog" and "What on earth should I write about".
I answered the first to and came up with somewhat satisfying results (although I noticed after that I spelled Thyme wrong!!)  A blog about sewing and gardening stuff. A place to record some of my musings and projects and such. Also hoping to learn how to make it look all pretty eventually.

The garden is kind of on hold this month so the biggest news is sewing. Have just signed up for a class called The Feathered Star.  It's a hoopsisters class and I'll be doing the sewing on a Brother Quattro 2 which I purchased last year.  Will post the blocks as I get them done and hopefully it will provide some inspiration to complete the homework =D

Am also finishing up the work on 2 other quilts, same pattern - different colorways- that I've been following on Craftsy.com.  It's their free block of the month quilt for 2012 and I'm only 3 months behind. That seems quite bad to me actually because up until the summer hit I was anxiously awaiting the next block to be posted so I could rush and get it done!  Have signed up for the 2013 course also so this should be interesting.

Will try to get my camera cord from prototype 3 this week so I can actually post pictures from my camera. In the meantime, will take a few on my phone and see if I can make it work =D

Am currently reading the 6th Harry Potter book.  Ya, I'm a wee bit behind in that also. Started the series last year and got tired of having to borrow books from the kids so only got up to the 4th one. Then a friend of mine figured out how to get them all to download to the Kindle app on my phone!!!  Heaven on a bun!

Off to do the September squares for my block of the month and then cut some fabric squares for the first of my hoopsisters classes tonight.
